PCD Coimbra 2021 – Processing Community Day
25: EXHIBITION
25.09.2021 – 25.01.2022, DEI
“Processing Community Day Coimbra 2021″ celebrated the 25th anniversary of FCTUC’s Informatics Engineering Department with creative A3 posters. Using p5.js, participants generated artful designs, ensuring the core element was the code-interpreted “25”. The result? A fusion of technology and art that brilliantly marked a quarter-century of achievement.
In crafting my poster for Processing Community Day Coimbra 2021, I delved into NASA’s Mission No. 25. Within the extensive report, I harnessed p5.js to automatically link every “2” and “5” with elegant lines, resulting in a visually captivating representation.
25: EXHIBITION is the result of an international open call on poster designs. This open call was part of the Processing Community Day Coimbra 2020 and aligned with the commemorations of the 25th anniversary of the Department of Informatics Engineering of FCTUC. The presented posters were developed taking into consideration two restrictions: (I) the visual and / or conceptual exploration of the 25 (the number “25”) was thematic subject; and (II) the use of code (any programming language) in at least one stage of the poster design process. The open call resulted in 70 submissions. The submissions were double-blind reviewed by a selection jury of specialists and selected 25 posters from authors of seven different countries.
